Blog post 2: Work experience

My work experience destination was Amed. I worked at Adventure Divers and Geria Giri Shanti Bungalows as my supervisor owns both of them.

and Adventure Divers

It was a little nerve-racking at first, but as soon as I started working the nerves slowly went away. I was lucky because I occasionally went there to go diving, so I knew all the staff and all the staff knew me.

That also made it easier to work there. The first 2 days I worked around the hotel a bit, and helped with the diving equipment. I learned how to clean the diving equipment because that has to be done properly.
On Wednesday, David, the dive instructor, took me with him to go diving. I had to help some people that were doing their Open Water dive course. That was really fun. That was a good experience because it showed me what it was like to be helping underwater as a dive master.
The rest of the days I would help around everywhere a bit. I got to help in the kitchen, in the rooms, with customer service and in the scuba diving department. So this was a good work experience week as I learned multiple things from different work departments.

Blog post 1: Mid Year Holidays report

After semester 1, we had a 4 week holiday which was good. My holiday wasn't exactly action packed but it was good enough.

The last day of school was the first match for Holland in the FIFA World Cup 2014. My family are soccer fans, including myself. Throughout my holiday I would wake up on some days at 12, 3 or 4 am just to watch a match. When it comes to that, I wish there wasn't time difference. But waking up at those times was worth it. Holland didn't win the world cup, but we did really good for a tiny little country. 3rd place is good enough for me!

Thom and I also wanted to start getting tennis lessons, so my dad found someone that could train us. We had 4 lessons in the holiday which we really enjoyed. It's going really well for us, which our tennis coach said. She said that what we were doing on the 3rd lesson is usually only achieved after a couple months of training. So that made us both really happy.

Since we were enjoying tennis so much, for our birthday we each got tennis shoes, a sports shirt and a tennis racquet. That was really cool. We didnt have a party but we had a 3 hr tennis lesson and we just enjoyed the day with family.
